Summer
Time
The benefits of cleaning your vehicle at Polar Bear are seasonally different - warm temperatures and long periods without rain encourage Central Oregonians to live and play outside more. To many, this means continuing that age-old tradition of hand-washing their vehicle in the driveway.
While a garden hose and sprayer may be an easy way to cool off on a hot summer's day, adding soap and vehicle grease and grime to the mix can have a crucial negative effect on the environment. Untreated wastewater from driveway runoff can directly enter our groundwater system or, through Fall showers, standing waste can eventually flow into area streams and rivers.
About
Redmond, Oregon
Car Wash
Cenral Oregon is a land of snow-covered mountains, pristine lakes, and rivers whose nature ranges from tranquil to raging; truly an outdoorsman's, or woman's, paradise!
At Polar Bear Gas & Wash, we intend to keep it that way. That's why we use only bio-degradable wash chemicals to clean your vehicle. The wastewater produced by our carwash process is disposed of through the local wastewater treatment facility, where it is rendered environmentally friendly before being returned to nature. Enjoy a cooling spray yourself, but bring your vehicle to Polar Bear Gas & Wash for a sparkling shine anytime!
Winter Days
Once winter driving conditions begin in the nearby Cascade Mountains, our local townships liberally apply magnesium chloride to road surfaces throughout the season to prevent a dangerous build-up of ice and snow. Ordinary detergents used at home and at some other commercial car washes may not completely remove this de-icer, leaving behind an opaque film that can damage unprotected surfaces on your vehicle.
At Polar Bear Gas & Wash, we use a specially-formulated "winter" soap to completely remove this potentially corrosive chemical. No more nasty film - just the same shiny clean you can expect from Polar Bear Gas & Wash - no matter what the season!
